When it comes to the all-time MMA GOAT, the name of Jon Jones rings in many people’s minds. Earlier in March, ‘Bones‘ made his heavyweight debut, something that has been in the works for almost three years. A lot of speculations surfaced around his capabilities at a heavier weight. However, the 35-year-old defeated all the odds as he made light work of Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.
About a month later, Jon announced he’d retire after taking on the former heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic. The news didn’t come as a surprise to many, since Jones doesn’t have anything left to prove about his in-cage greatness. Recently, Joe Rogan shed light on what’d happen if Jones and Tyson Fury were locked up in a room and had to fight their way out.
Joe said, “No one thinks like Tyson Fury could beat Jon Jones in a fight. No one thinks that. Tyson doesn’t think that.” He further explained, “If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’m pushing all my chips on black.”
“Let me tell you something, Tyson Fury is an amazing boxer, [but] he doesn’t have a f*cking chance in hell of making it out of that room. Zero chance,” Rogan concluded.
As expected, the comments reached the English boxer, who took to Instagram to post a scathing response. ‘The Gypsy King‘ called Rogan a “little f*cking midget, bald-headed midget,” before declaring what’d happen if he were to be in a room with the UFC megastar.
“I heard him say that Jon Jones could f*ck me up if we were in a room together,” Tyson said. “I don’t think so.”
Fury further said that no man alive can “f*ck” him up, before concluding with, “Whatever happens in that room, I’d be walking out, not a f*cking problem.”

This way, Jon Jones got looped in on the conversation about him and a potential fight against the undefeated boxing champion. Without wasting a breath, Jones offered a response of his own. It consists of a challenge to Tyson to contact UFC president Dana White, should he want to step inside the Octagon to make the fantasy a reality.
In the below-mentioned tweet, Jon gave Tyson credit for being a master of the sweet science of boxing. However, if he were to step foot into Jon’s world, things wouldn’t go so well for Fury. Fans have known Jon to haunt the UFC’s light heavyweight division from 2008 till 2020, winning 20 fights in the process. Out of those, 15 were title fight victories.
Tyson Fury has his own championship accolades inside the squared circle. But history has shown when boxers transition to MMA and vice versa, the win usually favors the athlete who is on home turf. A classic example is when former boxing champ James Toney tried his luck in the Octagon. Randy Couture made light work of him in 2010, while hardly breaking a sweat.
Tyson’s response now surprises fans of two realms – boxing and MMA. The 34-year-old U.K. native expressed immense interest in sharing the ring with Francis Ngannou at one point. Since ‘The Predator’ joined the PFL, Tyson has been uncharacteristically quiet. In a contract that fans have labeled too risky for the promotion, Francis will be able to box while still signed to the MMA promotion.
Unfortunately for Ngannou, Jones seems to have caught Tyson’s complete attention. Neither of the two has any bouts currently scheduled. However, the likelihood of them facing each other under MMA rules is a very long shot.
