A very exciting news has just been revealed: David Beckham has officially appointed Javier Mascherano as the new head coach of Inter Miami.
“Messi has a contract with Inter Miami until 2025. We will sit down with him to discuss the future. I repeat, I fully expect Messi to be our number 10 player when the new stadium opens in 2026 and we play in the 2026 MLS season,” billionaire Jorge Mas emphasized in a press conference to say goodbye to coach Tata Martino and talk about Messi’s future, on November 23.
Mr. Jorge Mas also confirmed: “In the next few days we will announce the identity of the new coach. Currently, we do not confirm or deny the rumors about the identity of the coach we will recruit. I only say that we are completing all the procedures and will soon announce the new coach in the next few days.”
Journalist Fabrizio Romano, a transfer news expert, also expressed: “Inter Miami has reached an agreement to invite coach Javier Mascherano to become the new coach of the club. Contract documents are being prepared for signing. Javier Mascherano will sign a long-term contract and reunite with his long-time friend, famous player Messi as well as former teammates Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez at FC Barcelona”.
Journalist Gaston Edul of TyC Sports channel gave more details: “Javier Mascherano has officially accepted the position of coach of Inter Miami. His new job will start from January 10, 2025. Javier Mascherano has informed the Argentine Football Association (AFA) of his decision. He will leave the position of head coach of the Argentina U.20 team. The AFA will soon have to appoint a new coach for the U.20 team to prepare for the South American tournament also in January 2025.”
Meanwhile, billionaire Jorge Mas has not confirmed Javier Mascherano as the new coach of Inter Miami, but revealed the selection criteria: “We used artificial intelligence (AI) technology to support research on the new coach. We took some names and created test scenarios to see how he would do with our current squad, and how he would do with the squad we want to form, it created a list of 50 names.”
Mr. Jorge Mas also hopes that the new coach will help Inter Miami play more offensively to win, not wanting the team to play defensively to find a draw.
“We will continue to develop the best team possible. There is no limit to the budget, we will bring the best players possible from anywhere in the world,” Jorge Mas affirmed when talking about the club’s ambitions, which he and chairman and co-owner David Beckham had previously committed to.
