Odell Beckham Jr., a wide receiver with the Baltimore Ravens, celebrated turning 31 on Sunday by hauling in his first touchdown pass in two and a half years.

The biggest highlight of a dismal first season with the Ravens came when Beckham caught a 6-yard ball from Tyler Huntley in the corner of the end zone midway through the fourth quarter in a 37-3 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. This was Beckham’s first touchdown since he and the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI on February 13, 2022.
Beckham remarked, “It feels good to finally get that one off you.” From a personal perspective, I think it’s funny that it happened on my birthday. It really is the perfect gift.”
On his birthday, Beckham became the first player in Ravens history to catch a touchdown pass. There wasn’t much for Beckham to rejoice about until Sunday.
Through the first eight weeks of the season, Beckham averaged a career-low 27 receiving yards per game, having missed the entire previous campaign due to recuperating from a second surgery on his left knee. In his nine-year career, he was held without a catch just once, which was a week ago.
Beckham bounced back on Sunday, hauling in a season-high five receptions for 56 yards.
“It’s been a long journey for me since February 2022 all the way until now,” Beckham stated. “The road has been really lengthy. There are good days in there as well as difficult, gloomy, and harsh days.
The whole Ravens sideline burst into cheers when Beckham scored. Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for Baltimore, jumped many times in the air after being pulled early in the fourth quarter of the blowout. Jackson had expressed a strong desire to score a touchdown for Beckham.
The Ravens’ Patrick Queen, a linebacker, stated, “It was definitely special.” “We are aware of his talent. All are aware that he is a celebrity. All we need to do is give him the ball and let him to be himself.”
Since 2019, when they were the first team in franchise history to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Ravens have a 7-2 record. Baltimore is now 3-0 versus teams that were winning at the time, outscoring opponents 103-12, and they share the best record in the AFC with the Kansas City Chiefs.
When asked if the Ravens and the Rams, who he played for in the Super Bowl two years ago, have the same culture, Beckham said yes.
